What makes our MAKA traditional tinctures more bioavailable and effective than other CBD tinctures that contain all coconut oil (MCT) or other oils (“oil drops”) in the market?
Herbalists have been using some form of alcohol to extract the powerful and healing properties of plants to create tinctures for thousands of years.
We use alcohol with our hemp seed oil as the preferred formulation for our 3000mg/2oz CBD tinctures. It is very powerful, safe, and can extract the compounds and active ingredients that aren’t water-soluble, such as essential oils, alkaloids, and resins. Our body can also absorb alcohol quickly because alcohol can enter our bloodstream rapidly through many capillaries under our tongue and cheeks much faster and more effectively than straight oils.
This means that when we place some drops under our tongue (sublingual), we’re not actually digesting the tincture. Rather, it’s entering our bloodstream almost immediately to deliver the tincture’s potent properties quickly.
Alcohol is also a natural preservative, giving herbal extracts a longer shelf-life. MAKA tinctures are also highly concentrated, meaning only a very small dose is required to reap the health benefits of our Full Spectrum CBD hemp oil and other important herbal extracts.
MAKA tinctures use ethyl alcohol, which is a high-proof alcohol that is commercially available and very safe for consumption. Given that the amount of tincture taken is very small (usually between 10 - 40 drops) and our ratio of alcohol used is less than 25% of our formulation, the amount of alcohol consumed is negligible.
Alcohol has been used as a solvent in herbal tinctures for centuries. We use it in our specially formulated Immunity and Adaptogen Tinctures for its fast-acting properties, its potency, and its ability to preserve the shelf-life of tinctures naturally. Only a very small amount of alcohol is consumed per dose in our traditional herbal tinctures, so it is a very safe and effective way of delivering high potency Full Spectrum CBD, hemp seed oil, and other important herbal extracts.
Note: Oil and water just don't mix, and the novelty of adding tinctures to food and drinks would dilute or decrease the absorption rate of CBD oil and herbal extracts. Bioavailability is greatly reduced.
